Turkish Proficiency Exam Announcement

There will be a Turkish Proficiency exam for international students registered to our university. Information about the exam application process, exam content and exam schedule are listed below.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT APPLICATION TO TURKISH PROFICIENCY EXAM

 

1) Candidates who want to take the exam must completely fill all the information in the application form at https://forms.gle/Nh75aSaGZhgyqW8B9.

2) The Turkish Proficiency Exam will be held online using Google Forms (Exam Form). Candidates who have completed the above-mentioned application form will get the exam participation link on the exam day (14 October 2020).

3) This exam is free of charge for Inonu University students.

4) Students who have C1 language certificate and graduated from High Schools affiliated to the Turkish Ministry of National Education will be deemed successful and will not take the exam. Students who have C1 language certificate or a graduation certificate from Turkish high schools must submit a copy of their documents to TÖMER until October 16, 2020.

5) Students who have a B2 language certificate and those who get a score between 70 and 84 points in the exam will be considered conditionally successful. Students who are conditionally successful must take a C1 level language certificate when they start the 3rd grade.

6) International students studying at Inonu University have the right to take this exam at TÖMER free of charge twice a year. "Turkish Proficiency Exam" generally held at the beginning of the fall semester and at the end of the spring semester. Please visit Inonu TÖMER's website to learn the exact dates of the exam.

 

INFORMATION ABOUT THE CONTENT OF TURKISH PROFICIENCY EXAM

 

1) The exam consists of Reading-Comprehension, Listening, Writing and Speaking sections.

2) The written exam will consist of Reading-Comprehension, Listening and Writing sections and will be held online in a single session. Speaking exam will be held interactively (via video link).

3) The evaluations regarding the sections of the exam will be as follows.

Reading-Comprehension section 20 points;

Listening section 20 points;

Writing section 20 points;

Speaking section 40 points.

 

GRADING INTERVALS

 

A1 -->  0 - 29   points

A2 --> 30 - 49 points

B1 --> 50 - 69  points

B2 --> 70 - 84 points (Conditionally Successful)

C1 --> 85 - 100 points (Successful)

Note: Students who are successful in the exam will not be awarded a certificate.
